Is EPP domain transfer similar to .com/.net transfer?

There is a slight difference for the process. For EPP domain, .org, .biz, .info, .cn and .us, transfer, you will need your Authorization Info to initiate the EPP transfer. Authorization Info can be obtained from your existing Registrar.

According to ICANN new inter-transfer regulations, for gTLD EPP domains, i.e. .org/.info/.biz domains, the Confirmation Email will still be sent to the administrative contact even though \'Auth-Code\' is provided. In other words, if the administrative contact does not follow the instructions in the Confirmation Email to accept the domain transfer, the transfer will be cancelled.

For ccTLD EPP domains, i.e. .cn/.us domains, as far as you have the correct \'Auth-Code\', you will be able to push through the transfer while we won\'t ask you to confirm again through confirmation emails.
